How verification works

Four levels, each a set of checks with a source, a date and an expiry. Lapses are caught automatically and re-checked.

  1. L1

    Identity Verified

Legal entity in good standing, EIN matches the name, owner ID and selfie check, business address.

Checked with: Secretary of State, IRS TIN match, ID verification

    Turnaround: Minutes

  2. L2

    Licensed & Insured

Trade licenses active for each state, general liability, workers' comp, auto and umbrella at platform minimums.

Checked with: State license boards, COI read by AI and confirmed by an analyst, broker confirmation

    Turnaround: 1-5 business days

  3. L3

    Safety & Financial Reviewed

OSHA 300/300A logs, TRIR and DART, EMR, written safety programs, citations, credit, liens and sanctions.

Checked with: Document review by an analyst, OSHA data, OFAC and SAM.gov, business credit

    Turnaround: 3-7 business days

  4. L4

    Audited

An auditor visits a live job: training records, PPE, equipment, housekeeping, hazard controls, and private interviews with 3 or more workers.

Checked with: Platform auditor network, standard checklist, geotagged photos

    Turnaround: Scheduled, 2-4 weeks

Every check, data source and re-check cadence is published on the Verification Standards page.

For companies

Facilities, IT and AV managers, consultants and GCs.

  • Filter by what the room needs

Programs Q-SYS, Crestron Masters on staff, divisible rooms delivered, source code handed over. Search by the ecosystem and depth, not a generic "AV" checkbox.

  • Stop chasing COIs

Insurance, licenses and worker certifications are verified once and monitored after. You get an alert the day something lapses, not after the crew is on site.

  • Ratings from people who hired them

Reviews come only from verified engagements and score programming stability, commissioning and closeout docs, not just "great guys".

For contractors

Free forever

Integrators, programmers, freelancers and event crews.

  • One profile for every client

Upload your COI, W-9 and certs once. Stop re-sending the same documents to every GC and facilities team.

  • Show the certs your techs hold

CTS, CTS-D, Crestron, Q-SYS, Extron, Dante: each tied to the person who earned it, and rolled up on your profile.

  • A badge that wins work

Put a live AVCleared badge on your website. It links to your verified profile and updates itself.

Searchable by the platforms your rooms run on

Firms list each ecosystem with how deep they go: sells, installs, programs, services. Certifications belong to the tech who earned them.

Money never moves a score

No paid product changes a Trust Score, search ranking, review visibility or badge. Paid services only change speed and who does the work. Negative reviews are never hidden for payment.

Questions buyers and contractors ask

More in the help center.

Do contractors pay to be listed?

No. Contractors list, get verified and earn their badge for free. Companies pay, because they're the customers. No contractor can pay to rank higher or look better, which keeps the ratings honest.

What does "verified" actually mean?

Each fact is checked against a source and dated: the state license board, the insurer or broker, the Secretary of State, OFAC and SAM.gov, OSHA records. The Verification Standards page lists every check, its source and how often we re-check it.

How is the Trust Score calculated?

It's a weighted score from five parts: compliance, safety, financial, performance and responsiveness. Weights are published on the Verification Standards page, versioned, and applied the same way to everyone. Every score shows the factors that raised and lowered it.

Who can leave a review?

Only a company that had a verified engagement with the contractor: a job completed on the platform by both sides, or a PO or invoice we matched. Contractors can respond publicly and dispute a review.

Can I search for a specific ecosystem or certification?

Yes. Filter by ecosystem and depth (sells, installs, programs, services), by certified headcount like "at least 2 CTS-D" or "1 Q-SYS Control 201", by room type, and by source-code handover policy.

Is AVCleared a guarantee of work quality?

No. We verify documents and public records as of a date and collect reviews from verified clients. Hiring decisions stay yours.

Your next room deserves a cleared crew.
